On the afternoon of November 9, 2020, the Tea Science Department of the College of Horticulture invited Liu Zhonghua, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, to guide the professional development of the department. The meeting was chaired by Professor Cao Fanrong, the vice dean of the college and the director of the tea science department. All teachers of the tea science department participated in the seminar.

First, Professor Cao Fanrong, the director of the tea science major, introduced the basic overview of the tea science major, and then the young and middle-aged teachers of the tea science department reported on their scientific research situation and future research plans.

Finally, Academician Liu Zhonghua gave suggestions to the tea science major in terms of the construction of scientific research and teaching team, team collaboration, scientific research direction, national natural science fund application, talent introduction, etc., pointing out that the scientific research and teaching team should be consistent and the scientific research in which direction should be undertaken In which direction of teaching, each team must have a leader, and each team member must divide and cooperate. In terms of scientific research, focus on the basic research and research on the characteristics of Guangdong’s tea industry. In the process of scientific research, multidisciplinary joint research and improvement is required.
