On January 29, the National Key R&D Program Project Integration and Demonstration of High-quality, Light-Efficient and High-Efficiency Cultivation Techniques for Evergreen Fruit Trees Sub-project 3 Integration and Demonstration of High-quality, Light-Efficient and High-Efficiency Litchi Loquat Cultivation Techniques kick-off meeting and implementation plan seminar in the College of Horticulture Convened. The conference was conducted in a combination of online and offline methods. There were more than 40 people including Hou Jianguo, Section Chief of the School of Scientific Research, Professor Hu Guibing, Dean of the College of Horticulture, 10 invited consultants, and researcher Li Jianguo, the host of the project, 8 project hosts and key members of the project Attended the meeting.
On behalf of the school, Hou Jianguo congratulated the launch of the project. He introduced to the experts and leaders attending the meeting the status of our school’s undertaking of the national key research and development plan during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, and also put forward suggestions and requirements for the implementation and management of the project. It is hoped that the project can always adhere to the four faces, focus on major common key technologies, promote self-reliance in agricultural science and technology, strengthen communication, interaction, connection and integration between different tasks, scientifically and standardize the use of project funds, and ensure that the overall project goals are completed together.
Hu Guibing emphasized that the person in charge of the project and its sub-projects must focus on the research content of the project, pay close attention to the implementation of the research objectives of the bid project declaration, and expand forward-looking technical research after completing the project objectives.
Professor Liu Yongzhong, the project leader and the leader of the consulting expert group, chaired 9 sub-projects to report the implementation plan and expert consultation. Researchers Jiang Yueming of South China Botanical Garden, Researcher Zheng Shaoquan of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Researcher Xiang Xu of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences respectively discussed the sub-projects The implementation plan made valuable suggestions. In view of the heavy tasks and short execution period of this subject, the consulting experts requested that the existing light cultivation techniques be matured as soon as possible and integrated and applied. As a cultivation subject, we should also pay attention to the pertinence of varieties and the supporting implementation of technology, and ultimately, we must complete the indicators of the subject according to quality and quantity.
In conclusion, Liu Yongzhong said that the 9 sub-topics should be strengthened, and the basic data of each demonstration park should be investigated in the early stage, and the work log should be carefully written to highlight the highlights of the demonstration park. The economic feasibility and results of each research content should be considered. The uniqueness, strengthen the propaganda of the demonstration results.
Researcher Li Jianguo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the guests and consultants who attended the meeting, and hopes that the person in charge of each sub-project will listen carefully to the suggestions and opinions of experts and improve the implementation plan. Implement the implementation and research and development of common technologies such as soil testing, leaf testing, formula fertilization and research on the applicability of drones. Pay attention to the process management of the subject implementation, do the daily work of the fruit orchard, and ensure the smooth completion of the subject.
The project Integration and Demonstration of High-quality, Light-weight and High-Efficiency Cultivation Techniques for Litchi Loquat was led by South China Agricultural University and united with Southwest University, Institute of Tropical Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences , Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other 6 universities and research institutes with good working foundation and R&D advantages in the field of lychee and loquat cultivation research and extension are participating units. Aiming at the problems of high labor cost and low high-quality fruit rate in the production of lychee and loquat, integrate and demonstrate multiple sets of high-quality, light-weight and high-efficiency cultivation technology systems or production models that have tree species characteristics and match the environment, in order to achieve quality improvement in the evergreen fruit industry Provide technical support for efficiency, industrial poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.
