On the afternoon of July 23, 2021, the 9th Standing Council Meeting of the 11th Council of the Guangdong Horticultural Society was held in the 101B conference room of the College of Horticulture, South China Agricultural University. This conference was held for the first time using a combination of online and offline conferences. There were people from the College of Horticulture, South China Agricultural University, Vegetable Research Institute, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Fruit Tree Research Institute, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Horticulture Research Institute, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Guangzhou. The Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Guangzhou Institute of Fruit Science, Guangzhou Flower Research Center, South China Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, South Subtropical Crops Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Shaoguan College, Zhongkai College of Agricultural Engineering, Guangdong Ocean University and many other units, including More than 20 representatives including the chairman, deputy chairman, executive director, secretary-general, deputy secretary-general, executive director representatives and secretariat staff attended the meeting.

The meeting was presided over by Chairman Lin Shunquan. The chairman first extended a warm welcome to all the participants. The participants spoke enthusiastically and fully discussed various topics.

Secretary-General Hu Guibing summarized the work of the society in the first half of 2021. Reported on party building work, cooperation with the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, annual routine work, other daily work of the Secretariat, and annual work summary of each governing unit. Secretary-General Hu Guibing also reported the financial income and expenditure of the society in the first half of 2021 and the membership dues payment details of each member unit, and made a detailed analysis and summary of the actual situation and difficulties of the units that have not paid their dues.

Deputy Secretary-General Zhu Shijiang briefly introduced the preparations for the 2021 annual academic conference, which is planned to be held in Meizhou, eastern Guangdong in the second half of the year, and will be hosted by Jiaying College. The president of Jiaying College attended the meeting and expressed his full support for the preparations for the meeting. Participants had a full discussion on the specific time of the meeting, the location of the venue and visiting points, and the transportation of the meeting.

Chairman Lin Shunquan gave a specific explanation on the amendment arrangements for the new constitution of the Guangdong Horticultural Society. Then, in response to the amendments submitted by each unit to the secretariat, the participants reflected the most prominent issue of the association between the chairman unit and the secretariat, Individual and team unit dues collection standards and the establishment of party organizations and other focal issues were discussed enthusiastically. The discussion opinions of on-site and online participants were integrated, chaired by the chairman, and the on-site and online voting was carried out one by one. Participants reached consensus on related issues.

Finally, Chairman Lin Shunquan expressed his heartfelt thanks to the standing directors and representatives participating in the meeting for their active participation and cooperation. The participants took a group photo at the entrance of the College of Horticulture.
