At 9 a.m. on September 6, 2021, 21st-grade freshmen from the College of Horticulture, wearing military uniforms, went to Ding Ying Auditorium under the leadership of the instructor to attend a freshman safety education lecture to enhance national security awareness, prevent problems before they occur, and build a safe college.
The keynote speakers of this lecture include police officer Chen Dongbin from Wushan Police Station and Mr. Wu from the Security Department of South China Agricultural University. The content of the lecture is mainly divided into two parts: national safety education for freshmen and guidance on fire safety prevention work in colleges and universities.
First, Officer Chen will give a lecture on national security education for freshmen. Officer Chen reminded the freshmen by telling the real cases that the danger is always around us, and he also educates the freshmen to always be vigilant and not to be greedy for petty gains in order to ensure their own safety. Officer Chen’s speech was vivid and vivid, and the freshmen expressed that they had gained a lot. Later, Mr. Wu told the freshmen about the safety of the laboratory and the use of electric vehicles, and cited several other university fire examples to remind students to always pay attention to the safety of electricity and prevent the above examples from recurring. At the same time, it is emphasized that young students should also pay attention to enhancing the awareness of national security and be vigilant in daily study and life.
Throughout the course of the lecture, the speaker and the freshmen frequently interacted. The freshmen deepened their understanding of safety education during the exchange, and there were bursts of applause in the auditorium from time to time.
