The College of Horticulture holds the sixth intensive study meeting in the 2021-2022 school year

On the afternoon of November 10th, the College of Horticulture held the 6th intensive study meeting in the 224 lecture hall of the courtyard building in the 2021-2022 school year. School Party Secretary Zhang Yifa, Dean Hu Guibing, Deputy Party Secretary Ma Qiang, Vice Deans Cao Fanrong, Wu Zhenxian, Liu Shaoqun, and all faculty and staff attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Dean Hu Guibing.

This meeting invited Professor Kong Fanjiang, Deputy Director of the Research Center for Molecular Genetics and Evolution of Guangzhou University, Su Dihua, Deputy Director of the Academy of Sciences of South China Agricultural University (New Rural Development Research Institute), and Tang Jialin, Section Chief of the Basic Research Project Management Division of the Project Management Office, etc. Jointly carry out the mobilization and guidance of the National Natural Science Foundation of the College of Horticulture in 2022.

Deputy Director Su Dihua first explained the current status of the National Natural Science Fund application of the school and college, and hoped that all teachers can actively apply to improve the scientific research strength of the school and college. Section Chief Tang Jialin explained the specific arrangements for the school's declaration.

Professor Kong Fanjiang is the winner of the National Natural Science Distinguished Youth Fund and was selected into the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Hundred Talents Program for Introducing Foreign Distinguished Talents. He is the winner of the Heilongjiang Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund and won the honorary title of Guangzhou High-level Talents Outstanding Expert, the 15th Guangdong Province Ding Ying Science and Technology Award, Outstanding Member Award of the Japanese Agrochemical Society and other awards. Professor Kong Fanjiang has rich experience in the declaration of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He explained in detail how to declare and how to improve the success rate of declarations from various aspects such as the selection of scientific problem attributes and the filling of declaration forms. The teachers at the scene listened carefully and actively interacted with Professor Kong.

Finally, Dean Hu Guibing made a summary and hoped that all teachers can apply what they have learned through this report, actively participate in the application, and promote the better development of the college's scientific research work.
