In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of general secretary Jinping’s reply to agriculture-related colleges and universities, we have always adhered to the principle of establishing morality and building people as the foundation, taking the responsibility of strengthening agriculture and rejuvenating agriculture as our own responsibility, exerting the function of three-level education, promoting the coordination of internal and external resources, and cultivating knowledgeable farmers and loving agriculture. On November 13th, our college invited 87 alumni and researcher Chen Dongkui, director of the Institute of Horticulture, Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, to give 21-level undergraduates a professional ideological education lecture on the theme of New Agricultural Talents Growth Plan. Dean Hu Guibing attended the lecture, which was hosted by Deputy Secretary Ma Qiang.

Researcher Chen Dongkui first expressed his deep gratitude to his alma mater, combined with his more than 30 years of continuous exploration in the horticulture industry, introduced his scientific research results, the frontiers and development prospects of the horticulture industry, and encouraged students to major in horticulture. Working hard, pioneering and innovating, and bravely being a trendy player standing on the forefront of the times, there is bound to be a lot to do. At the same time, he also kindly shared his life insights and suggested to his students that he is confident, caring, enterprising, persevering, and patient in college life and professional studies.

Dean Hu Guibing summarized that researcher Chen Dongkui’s profound knowledge, friendly alumni friendship, and wise suggestions and guidelines have inspired students to learn about gardening and fall in love with gardening. After listening to the lecture, the students actively communicated and interacted with Mr. Chen. Mr. Chen patiently answered questions about the students' personal doubts and interests.

This lecture effectively enhanced students' awareness and interest in horticulture, helped students set up their learning goals, opened up the first kilometer of professional learning, and determined to be a new type of talent who knows and loves agriculture.
