Recently, the College of Horticulture organized some alumni of the tea industry branch of the Alumni Association to carry out an exchange seminar. The president of the alumni branch Xian Zhaofen and other 7 alumni representatives attended the meeting. The dean and some teachers of the Tea Department attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Mr. Chen Wenpin, the dean of the Tea Department.
Secretary Zhang expressed a warm welcome to the alumni on behalf of the college, and briefly introduced the college's development in recent years and future development plans, especially the progress of the school's creation of double first-class. Director Chen introduced the plan to establish the Southern Tea Industry College. The alumni expressed their expectations for the development of the College of Horticulture and the Department of Tea Science, and proposed that the major of tea science should stand in the overall development of “tea industry, tea technology, and tea culture”, and strengthen the “prestigious schools, famous teachers, and famous products (students). And professional products and service industry development cases)”, centering on the multi-disciplinary and multi-professional industry chain, establish a school-enterprise practice base to jointly train students, and go out and practice more in terms of vocational skills improvement.
